The project that I felt was most successful would be the hanging sheet. The process I went through to complete this project was figuring out the proportion that I wanted the sheet to be. I had to figure out where the lights were and do the lights first. I had to draw with pencil first and draw where the sheet folded and had creases. I took a picture of it to see how it looked which helped since I saw where It needed to be shaded more and where there should be more lights and dark's. I was shocked by how it came out since I thought it was going to look bad and not realistic. I had to put a paper towel under my wrist since it kept getting in the charcoal and leaving marks on the blank parts of the paper.
The project that I felt was least successful would be the Hershey kiss drawing. The hershey kiss drawing was a huge challenge for me. I felt this project was the least successful because the shading of the hershey kiss wrapper blended in with the hershey kiss itself. All the creases that had lights in them was difficult for me to shade and make them lighter than others. What I would have done differently with this project is I would have made the proportion bigger so it would have been easier to get the creases of lights shaded in right.
2 pieces of artwork that have shown my growth would be the still life and opacity project. I learned in the still life project of how to shade the lights and darks better without making them blend in with each other. The opacity project shows my growth because i had no idea how to make something see through. This project shows my growth by the skills i used to figure out how to make this art work see through. It shows my growth by the new things I learned in this project such as better shading.
Two mini lessons that I felt were the most beneficial in teaching us for this particular project is that to not blend in the pastel as much. I kept blending it in too much and was told to blend lighter. When I blended the actual candy and the picture of the candy on the wrapper they almost blended in with the real candy and I was told to make it darker in certain areas which helped. We were taught how the twisted end of the wrapper needed some dark's to look more tightened where it twisted. Also for the egg project we were told to do the lights first then blend the colors and I always forget to do the lights first when blending. We were told people like to draw eggs circular. However when I tried making it more oval I made it look a little pointy.
The medium that was my favorite to work with would be the scratch board. I had lots of fun practicing what to draw for the final scratch board project. I enjoyed working with the scratch board since you didn't need to worry about erasing anything. If you mess up then you could just work with it and make it look like something else. I like how it comes out and you don't even need to add color since it already comes out in a color. I didn't really like how this scratch board project came out since I messed up on the eyes but other than that I kinda like it. The fact that you can't smear the scratch board like you can with pencil and other certain mediums is a reason why using a scratch board is fun.
