The sculpture that I did was was on a slab of clay. Then I drew a tiger eye and made it 3D by rolling hot dog style a piece of clay and putting it on top of the eye to make it pop out. I drew the black markings with a pointy thingy. Then voila, I made a tiger clay thingy mabob.

Wedging is the first thing you do before you start sculpting. You drop it on the table and roll it around or whatever so you get all the hollow bubbles in the clay out/filled in.
You use scoring when you want to connect two pieces of clay together. You make slashes (like shown in the picture) on both the pieces you want to connect then you get both of those slashes wet and press them together but not hard enough to ruin the piece you made.
If you want to make something easy a pinch pot is very easy. First you would get a handful of clay. The next step is easy but may take awhile/few minutes, this part is wedging. You would take the clay and slam it onto the table and roll it into a ball or whatever to get the bubbles in the clay out/filled in so it wont blow up in the kiln. After you are certain your done with that part you would then roll it into a ball. If your clay starts to get hard to work with then get it a little damp but not too much or it will be hard to work with all wet. Take your thumb and press down in the center of the ball of clay to make a hole. Then pinch around the sides making the sides go upward. Make sure the bottom of this pot is flat. Make sure the outside is smooth. Then you would let it dry, and after that you would fire it. Then when thats done you can decorate it.
